This is a very large slow moving storm and is expected to cause a lot of flooding as it comes ashore. At this time we do not know what the need for assistance will be, but we are planning to be ready to help if our assistance is needed. If you would be interested in working with us to assist those impacted by the storm, you can e-mail me at disaster_care@sbcglobal.net (please put Isaac in the subject line). I will update the blog as more information becomes available.

Disaster Care is a
Ministry opportunity. Reaching out to people in their time of need
says a lot about who we are. Our Disaster Care Ministry reaches out
to those affected by disaster in several different ways.
We have a trained
Lutheran Early Response Team (LERT) that can be activated to help
when disaster strikes. They are able to go into a disaster area, help
with clean up and share God's love.
We also have our Bucket
Brigade That assembles disaster buckets full of cleaning supplies and
delivers them to those who need them. The cost of each bucket is
about $20.
We have Responded to
Disasters in Louisiana, Arkansas and across Texas.
